The Ultimate Pack List for an Overseas Student Trip

Of course, what you need to pack for your next Overseas Student Trip strongly depends on your destination and the season you’re travelling in. As an educational tour company working with school groups, our main season are the April and September school holidays. Therefore, we have decided to put together a sample pack list for the seasons of Spring and Autumn in our main destination – Europe.

This Pack List for an Overseas Student Trip is suitable to countries in Western, Central and South Europe during the months of April, May, September and October.

CLOTHING

  • Underwear (2-3 weeks’ worth)
  • Socks (2-3 weeks’ worth plus a pair of woollen ones for the plane)
  • 5 long sleeve shirts
  • 5 short sleeve shirts
  • 2-3 sweatshirts
  • 2-3 pairs of long pants / jeans
  • 1-2 pairs of shorts
  • 1 belt
  • Pyjamas
  • Rain jacket
  • Flip Flops / Sandals (for warmer destinations and to wear in the hotel room)
  • 1 pair of sneakers / comfortable walking shoes
  • 1 nice outfit (in case you are attending a formal occasion)

TOILETRIES

  • Toothbrush & toothpaste
  • Shampoo & Conditioner
  • Soap / Shower Gel
  • Deodorant
  • Feminine Products
  • Brush / Comb
  • Razors/ other shaving supplies
  • Contact lenses and solution
  • Nail clipper
  • Makeup
  • Over-the-counter medicines, if required
  • Enough prescription drugs for the length of your stay (You need to make sure you are allowed to bring them into the country and that you have documentation, either the prescription or a doctor’s note)

EXTRAS

  • A small backpack for day tours (can be used as carry-on bag)
  • Sunglasses
  • Laptop and charger
  • Camera with cords and charger
  • A travel adaptor

IN YOUR CARRY-ON

  • Important documents (passport, visa, itinerary, plane tickets, ISIC card, etc.) in passport/document holder
  • Pocket money in local currency
  • Purse / wallet
  • Mobile phone (You need to make sure it’s unlocked and can be used internationally)
  • Charger (you can usually charge your phone on the plane or at the airport)
  • A Mini Toiletry Bag (toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, hand sanitiser and any medication you need for the flight)
  • Eye mask and travel pillow
  • A book or magazines
  • Headphones
  • Ear plugs
